The Parkside Group is proud to have been a part of a historic independent expenditure campaign that helped shape the 2013 contests for the New York City Council.
Launched by Jobs for New York – a broad coalition of men and women from the business and labor communities – we helped raise the dialogue and worked to elect candidates and elected officials who share our strong commitment to creating jobs in all five boroughs of this great city.
We ran aggressive campaigns in 22 districts, from Riverdale in the Bronx to Richmondtown on Staten Island. We sent out 2.4 million pieces of direct mail, hired 250 full-time canvassers who knocked on 325K doors and spoke to 3.4 million New Yorkers about ways to create economic opportunity in the Big Apple.
And in the end, a full 80% of candidates supported by Jobs for New York won their campaigns for City Council.
It is was a great pleasure working with such a talented team of professionals, including Rob Speyer, Steve Spinola of REBNY and leaders from organized labor like Pat Purcell from the United Food & Commercial Workers, Steve McInnis of the NYC District Council of Carpenters and Mike McGuire from the Mason Tenders’ District Council.
Congratulation to Jobs for New York for a job well done and to all of the victorious candidates we supported. Together, we are moving New York City forward.
