The Parkside Group, New York’s leading full-service public affairs firm, is seeking an Accounting Associate to join its practice in New York City. This newly created position will report to the President and the COO.

Key Accountabilities
Oversee accounts, ledgers and financial reporting in QuickBooks Online
Serve as finance point of contact for clients, vendors, and outside accounting firm
Process electronic and physical deposits and apply to client invoices
Oversee project budgets; prepare and send client invoices on a timely basis
Enter vendor invoices, select invoices for payment, and set up check run; review vendor invoices for reasonableness
Drive accounts receivable processes; lead weekly A/R meeting with company CEO, send client statements, and collect aged balances
Complete bank and credit card reconciliations and resolve exception items
Review trial balance and liaise with external accounting firm on a monthly basis to complete any required journal entries and other adjustments
Complete other tasks, analyses, reporting, or internal audits, as needed
Core Competencies
Accounting skills (degree in accounting or equivalent)
Articulate and effective oral and written communication skills; ability to adapt communication style to a variety of situations and a diverse group of internal and external constituents
Proactive in identifying issues and able to problem-solve and find optimal solution
Intermediate Excel skills (e.g., drop down lists, conditional formatting)
Expert QuickBooks Online skills
Detail-oriented
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize effectively, even during cyclical periods with high volume of work
Ability to maintain confidentiality of company and client information
Education and Experience
Degree in accounting and 2-4 years relevant experience (required)
Experience (2-4 years) working with QuickBooks Online in a high-volume environment (required); QB certification (preferred)
Experience working in client service industry (required)

Our company continues to honor a hybrid (home and office) policy, but the candidate must be local to New York City.
Anticipated salary range is $70,000 - $80,000
